Bomb found at Narayanganj police box defused

A bomb found at the Signboard traffic police box in Narayanganj this afternoon has been defused by the bomb disposal unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

An improvised explosive device (IED) was defused around 7:45pm after blocking the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, said Mahmuduzaman, assistant commissioner of the DMP.

Mashiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station, said Narayanganj traffic police sergeant Asif Hossain found a bomb like object at a traffic police box at Signboard area in the city this afternoon.

Later, he along with other policemen left the police box, our Narayanganj correspondent reports quoting the OC.

On information, a bomb disposal unit of DMP reached the spot around 5:50pm and started working on defusing the bomb.
