Khaleda asked to defend herself on Dec 15

Granting a time petition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, a Dhaka court yesterday asked her to place her self-defence statements on December 15 in Zia Charitable Trust graft case filed by the Anti - Corruption Commission in 2011.

Khaleda's lawyer Khondker Mahbub Hossain submitted the time petition seeking adjournment of today's hearing. In the petition, the lawyer said Khaleda on Tuesday submitted a writ petition with the High Court seeking cancellation of statements recorded by the trial court from 32 prosecution witnesses in the case.
