JU students seek justice for Marma sisters
Some 50 students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday demonstrated on the campus demanding justice for the two teenage Marma sisters, one of whom was allegedly raped while the other sexually assaulted during a drive by security forces at Orachari village in Bilaichari upazila of Rangamati last month.
Under the banner of “Indigenous Students' Association of JU”, the demonstrators first brought out a protest procession demanding punishment for the “guilty security forces members”.
Later at a human chain on the central Shaheed Minar premises, they declared six-point demands including fresh forensic tests of the victims, an impartial probe-committee and security for the victim family.
