Journalist dies in Rangpur fire
A journalist was killed in a fire in his Rangpur city residence on Wednesday.
The dead, Tyabur Rahman Swapan, 58, of Kamal Kachhna area, worked at risingbd.com. The fire originated from a mosquito coil in the afternoon that day, said the family. He succumbed to his burns at Rangpur Medical College Hospital in the evening, said his brother Tahmidur Rahman. Swapan started his journalism career at the erstwhile daily Azad. He had been living in Rangpur for the last three months after he suffered a stroke, said the brother.
