Initiatives taken to make Eid journey hassle-free: IGP

Coordinated initiatives have been taken to make Eid journeys hassle-free and ensure security of holidaymakers, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary.

The IGP made the remarks while talking to reporters after inspecting traffic situation on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Chandona Chowrasta yesterday noon.

Javed Patwary said district police, highway police and reserve police have been engaged to ensure easy exit from Dhaka.

Control rooms have been set up at different places. Besides, watchtowers and check-posts have also been set up, said the IGP.

The IGP also said passengers should be aware of "malam party" and muggers on the highways.
