Help save CU student

Shamsul Islam, a fourth year student of the dramatics department of Chittagong University (CU), has been suffering from blood cancer for over one year.

For collecting fund for his treatment, the department will stage Rabindranath Tagore's play “Tasher Desh” in Theatre Institute, Chittagong (TIC) auditorium today.

The first show of the drama directed by the department's Chairperson Ashim Das would be held at 5:00pm while the second one at 7:00pm.

CU VC Ifthekhar Uddin Chowdhury and City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin will inaugurate the shows, said a press release sent by the department.

As the family is not able to continue Shamsul's treatment which will cost around Tk 40 lakh, the deartment requested all to come forward to save a life.
