Dr Anwara Begum passes away

Dr Anwara Begum, wife of former president Dr Iajuddin Ahmed, died while she was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals Dhaka on Saturday. She was 83.

Anwara was former dean of Dhaka University's biology deparment. She had been taking treatment for various ailments since April 14, said her special assistant Motahar Hossain. She left behind a son and a host of relatives to mourn her death.

The body will be taken to her last working place, Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology tomorrow.

She will be buried at the Banani graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza at the DU central mosque after the Zohr prayers.
