Don’t show Mannan arrested without warrant: SC

The Supreme Court today upheld a High Court order that directed the government not to show MA Mannan, suspended mayor of Gazipur city, arrested in any case without an arrest warrant.

A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order dismissing a petition filed by the government.

The HC on November 29 following a writ petition ordered the law enforcers not to arrest MA Mannan from the jail gate after his release from the jail.

The government recently filed the petition with the SC seeking stay on the HC order.
