Court order on March 28 to hand over abandoned newborn
A Chittagong court will pass an order Tuesday on applications from different individuals that sought permission to adopt a male newborn who was found abandoned in the city over a month ago.
Fourteen applications have been submitted before the court since the incident, said police.
After hearing eight appeals, Judge Jannatul Ferdous fixed the date, said additional public prosecutor MA Fayez.
The baby is now undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said Fayez.
On February 20, Akber Shah police recovered the baby from a dustbin in Prasanti Residential area of Colonel Hat, said Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Mahmud.
