Two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists clashed at Govt BM College, Barisal yesterday following a protest against stalking a female student.

Campus sources said around six activists from both the groups were injured. General students, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said BCL activist Palash Das stalked the female student in the college canteen.

As another activist Mohammad Oliuddin protested it, Palash asked his supporters to come from Kabi Jibanananda Das Hall with sharp weapons, triggering the clash with Oliuddin and his followers, they said.

Palash, however, said Oliuddin's group attacked him by bringing a false allegation against him.

College Principal Imanul Hakim said a three-member committee, led by Prof Abdul Motaleb Hawladar, was formed to investigate the incident.
