Avoid BNP-backed candidates

Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday termed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia a "queen of terror" and urged all to avoid BNP-backed candidates in the city corporation polls.
He was addressing a views-exchange meeting held at JM Sen Hall in Chittagong city yesterday. Sanatoni Nagorik Samannay Committee, Chittagong organised the meeting.
Hasan Mahmud said arsonists are looking for opportunities to cause violence on the eve of the upcoming city corporation polls.
He urged the law enforcers to conduct expensive drives against arsonists and pickets to ensure a secure environment so that people from all walks of life can cast their votes.
AL-backed mayoral candidate for Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) polls AJM Nasir Uddin was present among others.
