28 female ‘Jamaat activists’ held in Dhaka
Police today claimed to have detained 28 alleged female activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from Mohammadpur area in Dhaka.
The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.
They were detained while holding a clandestine meeting on the second floor of a building on Nurjahan Road in the area, said Hafiz Al Faruq, assistant commissioner of Mohammadpur zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Police recovered leaflets of Jamaat-e-Islami from their possession.
They are now being interrogated, Hafiz said.
