10kg of gold seized at airport

Customs officials yesterday detained five people and recovered 86 gold bars, weighing 10kg, worth around Tk 5 crore, from their bodies at the capital's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The five, Abdul Halim, Belal Uddin, Sajjad, Alam and Anwar, boarded the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, which came from Dubai, from Shah Amanat International Airport at Chittagong.
The detainees admitted in primary interrogation that they were supposed to hand those over to some people in Dhaka.
