Celluloid ambitions
Although Moushumi Nag is a popular face on the small screen, she is taking on the celluloid world as well. Now busy shooting a number of films, she recently returned to Dhaka after shooting two songs for her new movie “Prarthona” in Cox's Bazar. It will be mainly shot in the capital and rural areas.
The actress is optimistic about the success of the love story “Prarthona” and believes that the audience will respond favourably to the cinematic work.
The shooting for her debut film “Runout” wrapped up recently. She worked with Sajol on the project, directed by Tonmoy Tanshen. It might be released before Eid-ul-Adha.
“In 'Runout', I play a character named Zenith,” Moushumi says, “Runout' is an out an out commercial movie. I think will turn out well as I put in a lot of hard work during the shoot.”
She has also appeared in another movie “Feel My Love”, directed by Biplob Haider. She plays the role of a sex worker in the project with Ferdous. The shooting for the film also wrapped up recently.
“Ferdous was very helpful during the shooting”, Moushumi said.
Moushumi only makes occasional appearances in TV plays but wants to stay with the media.
Asked about her late entry in the film industry, the talented artiste said, “I was not prepared earlier but now I am confident. I must give all credit to film director Tonmoy Tanshen for this.”
She now has ambitions of becoming an established film artiste.
Moushumi is also acting in three drama serials. Besides this, she is busy shooting some one-hour plays to be aired during Eid.
When she gets breathing space from her hectic shooting schedule, she watches a lot of movies and devours novels of noted authors like Humayun Ahmed.
