Ducsu polls: 471 students to contest 28 posts

A total of 471 students will contest 28 positions in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election.

Chief Returning Officer Prof Mohammad Zashim Uddin disclosed the information while announcing the final list of Ducsu election candidates during a press briefing today.

Moreover, 28 candidates withdrew their nominations while 10 others whose nominations were rejected in the initial scrutiny did not file appeals, he said.

Among the top three posts, 45 candidates will vie for the position of vice-president (VP), 19 for general secretary (GS), and 25 for assistant general secretary (AGS), he added.

In addition, 217 students are contesting for the member posts, making the Ducsu polls highly competitive across the board.
