80,000 students to get free WiFi in North Bengal
To facilitate high-speed internet and WiFi access to the students of North Bengal, WiFi hotspots have been launched in six educational institutions in Rajshahi and Natore. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the launching of the WiFi hotspots in the educational institutions including Rajshahi University and rajshahi College on January 13-14, according to a release. "We have to turn young generation into competent workforce through imparting IT skills as they are the future leaders of Bangladesh," Palak said, emphasising on importance of internet in building a future IT workforce. This initiative, implemented by Aamra Networks Limited, shall benefit more than 80,000 students in the region, the release read. Facilitating WiFi in North Bengal is a great leap in decentralising technology and eradicating digital divide between urban and sub-urban Bangladesh. Managing Director of Aamra companies Syed Farhad Ahmed, DGM and Head of Marketing of Aamra Networks Limited Solaiman Shukhon, and Head of Marketing of Aamra smart solutions Muntasir Ahmed accompanied the state minister during the launching events.
