BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) hosted a memorial program and doa mahfil on Sunday in tribute to the late Abdullah Hil Rakib, commemorating his enduring contributions to education, the readymade garment (RMG) industry, and social welfare.
The event, held at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall, featured a curated photo exhibition comprising 100 images that illustrated significant moments from Abdullah Hil Rakib's life and career. A short documentary was also screened, offering insight into the milestones that defined his impactful journey.
Family members, colleagues, and close associates paid tribute through personal reflections, recalling his leadership and dedication. As part of the programme, a framed citation and a memorial photo album were formally unveiled. Attendees also contributed written messages and memories in a dedicated comment book, adding a personal dimension to the commemoration.
The programme began with one minute of silence in memory of the victims of the recent tragedy at Milestone School and College.
The event concluded with a doa mahfil (prayer session), in which BUFT faculty members, officials, and invited guests took part. The programme was coordinated and conducted by the university's Public Relations Department.
