Stocks keep rising

Stocks continued to rise in the first hour of the day, extending the gains to the third trading day.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, gained 18 points, or 0.28 per cent, to 6,428. Turnover stood at Tk 940 at 12:40 pm.

At the DSE, 68 securities advanced, 84 fell and 209 remained unchanged.

Chartered Life Insurance topped the gainers' list with a 10 per cent rise. Pragati Life Insurance, Genex Infosys, Bashundhara Paper Mills and Sinobangla Industries also rose significantly.
