Meta launches Facebook Reels in Bangladesh
Meta has now brought Facebook Reels to everyone in Bangladesh, enabling users to make short-form videos.
It is available for both iOS and Android users in Bangladesh, according to a statement of Meta, the parent of Facebook.
Reels on Facebook are a short-form video format complete with music, audio, AR effects, and other options. Users can watch reels from creators and make their own reels to share on Facebook.
"At Meta, we are always testing new ways for people to express themselves and entertain others," said Jordi Fornies, Meta's director of Emerging Markets in the Asia Pacific region.
"Reels have been inspiring Bangladeshi creators on Instagram, and now people on Facebook can discover more entertaining content, and creators can reach new audiences. We are excited to see the creativity and connections that Reels will unlock for the Bangladeshi Facebook community."
According to Meta's analysis, the video makes up more than 50 per cent of the time spent on Facebook.
According to Meta, Reels give people a new outlet to express their creativity with the ability to record videos, select music and add photos and timed text. It helps creators expand the reach of their content, and for new creators to be discovered.
