DSE starts delayed for ‘technical glitch’

Trading at country’s premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today began one-and-half hours late for what authorities said “technical glitch”.

The trading, scheduled to open from 10:30am, started at 12:00 noon. A notice was hung on the DSE website saying that the delay was caused for technical problems.

Contacted, Shafikur Rahman, deputy general manager of DSE’s public relations department, confirmed the reason for delay to The Daily Star.

“Trading began from 12:00 noon and will continue until 4:00pm,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange opened today’s trading at scheduled time, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
