Milestone College 4th in Dhaka Board

Milestone College achieved 4th position in Dhaka Education Board at the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination. All students who appeared in JSC examinations from Milestone have came out successful. This year, a total of 958 students from both Bangla and English mediums took part in the examination. Of them 877 students achieved GPA 5 and 81 students achieved A grade. Principal of Milestone College, Professor Md. Shahidul Islam, and Vice Principal, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) M. Kamal Uddin Bhuiyan, said that identifying students' weaknesses and special supervision brought them this success.

Airtel celebrates 1 million Facebook fans with Airtel Buzzers

Airtel Buzz, the official Facebook page of Airtel Bangladesh Limited, the fastest growing telecom operator in the country, has crossed one millions fans. This marks the first million fans milestone of an official Bangladeshi brand fan page on Facebook. Airtel celebrated the achievement with 100 Airtel Buzz fans through a daylong event at Jamuna Future Park on December 31, 2013.
Airtel Buzz started its journey on January 15, 2011. It is currently the top brand fan page in Bangladesh with 1,063,750 fans and this number is constantly increasing. The page has highest “People Talking About This” (PTAT) rating among telecom pages, with 70 thousand PTAT for months. Till November 2013 the total number of “likes” was almost 2 million, comments were 1, 55,263 and shares were 13, 3,162. The page works as a youth “adda” hub, where product related posts are shared along with lifestyle posts which the youth can relate to and engage with. Also, Airtel initiatives like 'Airtel Young Star' and 'Airtel Rising Stars' are promoted through this page to make the youngsters aware of the opportunities. Fans can also participate in various competitions through which they can win official Manchester United merchandise. The page also runs small contests every now then like 'Telefilm Behind the Scene' photo contest, 'Girls Day Out', '3G Hotdog Eating Contest' at George's Cafe etc. A unique contest on a 'Sehri' event was held this year, where a number of Airtel Buzzers were selected to have sehri together at Hotel Al Razzak. Airtel Buzz is also a good platform to share event news with the users as the page becomes super engaging during the release of Airtel telefilms as many fans share their thoughts on the page. The page also provides Airtel customers an effective option to get customer service; where a dedicated team answers all the queries.   
The fan page recently hosted the first online based lifestyle show 'What's cooking'. With the span of 8 episodes, this show garnered a significant fan following as it shared tips on cooking, lifestyle and various Airtel services. Beside this, Airtel buzzers got free entry passes at Dhaka Comicon 2013 where Airtel was a sponsor.

Annual Award Ceremony of  Born to Smile Initiative

Born to Smile Initiative organised an annual award giving ceremony for the volunteers, members and sponsors of the organisation at Rupayan Centre on December 30, 2013. The programme was arranged in order to appreciate the volunteers, members and sponsors for their contribution to the community. Best Female Volunteer of the year 2013 was awarded to Rafia Rahim Rafa (BIT) and Best Male Volunteer was awarded to Ali Mohammad Hafiz (IUB), Saadman Sakif (NSU) and Md. Taqi Yasir (BIT). CSR awards were presented to Shamsul Alamin Real Estate, Rupayan Group, Bangla Cat, Regum Group, Tepantor Group and Asian TV.
About 100 volunteers from different English Medium schools participated in the award giving ceremony. Many people, including Shabbir Ahmed, chairman of Kai Distributions Ltd; Md. Hossian Jony; Mahir Ali Khan Ratul; Imran Khan; club members and distinguished guests were present at the programme.
