Bodies of father, 2 daughters found hanging

The bodies of a man and his two minor daughters were found hanging from the ceiling of their house in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj this morning.

Informed by locals, police recovered the bodies of Mosidul Haque Abujh, 32, and his daughters, Opi, 10, and Omi, 6, from their tin-shed house at Durlavpur Para around 10:30am, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.

Mosidul might have taken his own life after hanging both of his daughters following a family feud, Abbasuddin, assistant superintendent of police (Gomostapur circle) said quoting the victims’ neighbours.

While talking to the correspondent, locals said Mosidul’s wife Paroshmoni went to her father’s house at Fakirpara village along with their two-year-old son, Anu, after having a quarrel with her husband yesterday.

Police are now trying to find out whether Mosidul committed suicide after killing his two daughters or the trio was murdered, the ASP said.  

After the body recovery, police detained Paroshmoni for interrogation in the morning.
