BNP expels 2 dissident JCD leaders
Former organising secretary Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokan and former vice-president Abu Sayeed of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal have been expelled from BNP for their role in staging protests against the party’s student wing’s new committee.
BNP in a press release today said the duo were expelled from the party for breaching party discipline and urged all leaders and activists of BNP and its front bodies not to maintain any kind of organisational relation with them.
The action was taken against the rebel JCD leaders nearly 20 days after their weeklong demonstrations against the new JCD central committee formed on October 14 with Rajib Ahsan and Akramul Hasan as president and general secretary.
A group of dissident and deprived JCD leaders and activists started demonstrating in front of the Nayapaltan office the following day demanding that the new body of BNP’s student associate organisation be dissolved calling it an ‘incompetent and pocket committee’.
