The heinous physical assault carried out by a gang on four women at Bhashantek reveals the extreme degree of criminal perversity. Not only was the type of torture brutal, but also the culprits have remained at large even after three weeks of the gruesome incident. What more, the criminals are threatening the victims with consequences for having filed a case, which impels them to live in fear.

In catching the gang of criminals the police's intelligence wing should have been more up and doing and target oriented.
