Man burnt alive while trying to rescue cattle from fire in Sirajganj
A man was burnt to death when he tried to save his cattle from a fire at Feukandi village of Raiganj upazila under Sirajganj district early today.
The deceased Md Nazrul Islam (28) of Feukandi village rushed to save his two cows from a fire at the cattle-shed of his house. His father Nurul Islam was also injured at the time, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting a fire service official.
"The fire spread rapidly after it originated from a mosquito coil at the shed around 4:00am today," said Md Nadir Hossain, station officer of Ullapara Fire Service and Civil Defense.
While trying to save his cows from the fire, Nazrul was caught in it and was burnt alive on the spot. One of the cows also died in the fire, said Nadir.
Firefighters from Ullapara and Solonga police rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, he said.
