Remove Sonaimuri OC: Khokon writes to EC

BNP’s candidate Mahbub Uddin Khokon has written to the Election Commission for removing the officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri police over yesterday’s violence.

Khokon's son Sakib Mahbub submitted a letter in this regard today, our staff correspondent reports from the EC office in Agargaon area of Dhaka.

Khokon, joint secretary general of BNP, was hit by rubber bullets during a clash between Awami League and BNP activists in his electoral area Noakhali-1 yesterday.

He had alleged that the law enforcers opened fire targeting him.

In the letter, Khokon also called upon the Election Commission to take legal action against the attackers by next 12 hours.

Khokon is contesting the polls against Awami League nominated candidate HM Ibrahim in the constituency.
