Doctor dies of post-Covid complications
Golam Mortuza Harun, former president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Chattogram chapter, died of post Covid-19 complications at a hospital in the port city early yesterday.
He was 69, said Mujibul Haque Khan, president of BMA, Chattogram chapter.
Harun was a student of 15th batch of MBBS at Chattogram Medical College, he said, adding, he was president of Chattogram chapter of Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB), a pro-BNP doctors' organisation. He was also an advisor of Chattogram city unit BNP.
Harun tested positive for Covid-19 on May 12 and recovered from it on May 22, but had been suffering from post Covid-19 complications, said Mujibul, adding, as his condition deteriorated, he was taken to life support at a private hospital in the city where he breathed his last around 3:00am.
He was also the founding managing director of Chevron Clinical Laboratory in Chattogram.
