Grocer arrested for sharing Facebook post demeaning PM

Police yesterday arrested a man in Sapahar upazila of Naogaon for sharing a Facebook post filled with profanity against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The man was identified as grocery store owner Mofizul Islam, 28, son of Nazrul Islam from Hapania (Shialmari) village under Sapahar upazila in Naogaon.

Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Sapahar Police Station said they arrested Mofizul around 12:00noon from his grocery store at Andhardighi village in the upazila.

Process is underway to file a case against the arrestee, who shared a Facebook post written in profane language about the PM, said the OC.

The original publisher of the post, Milon Hossain, was arrested on Thursday in Raninagar upazila of the same district for using expletives on his Facebook page against the PM and Israfil Alam, MP of Naogaon-6.
