Haldaa and Khaacha to compete at SAARC Film Festival 2018
Now in its 8th year, the SAARC Film Festival is one of the most successful programmes in the SAARC Cultural Centre calendar of activities.
This year, the programme will be hosted at Colombo, Sri Lanka from May 22 to 29. There will be three categories open for nominations at the SAARC Film Festival. They are: Feature Films, Short Films, and Master Films. Some films from Bangladesh will be acknowledged at the programme.
Haldaa, directed by Tauquir Ahmed, and Khaacha directed by Akram Khan have been selected from Bangladesh for the Feature Films category. In addition, noted director Morshedul Islam’s Akhi O Taar Bondhura has been selected for the Master Films category.
Further to this, films such as Kaalo Megher Bhelai and Daag will compete in the Short Films Category.
Earlier, Tauquir Ahmed’s Oggyatonama won the Best Screenplay Award at SAARC Film Festival 2017.
