A transcendental combination
Its not every day that Star Showbiz does a story, let alone a cover story on a TVC. The story for this issue, though unconventional, represents us answering our call of duty. What duty you ask? Well, our duty as Bangladeshis, who need to appreciate our own productions instead of foreign ones. I say this because we do not come across an ad so touching and moving that it changes the hearts and minds of people. The music, vocals, direction and execution needed to be finely selected for it to be successful, and it needed resources. And even more resources are needed to make the kind of good films of the same caliber. Don't we always complain of there not being any good films to watch made in Bangladesh? There can be many reasons behind this, lack of good stories, writers and resources. There is also the fact that when our country's young filmmakers make films, they can't handle the story. Therefore these ads inspire hope in us, hope that these young film/ad makers will in fact go ahead and make amazing films. However, that's a bit of a stretch, and such things rarely happen, yet we still hope and pray for the best because we are a hopeful people. This is why we appreciate these ads, ads that touch our hearts. It is important to keep in mind that this combination of good script, good lyrics, good vocals, good music, good direction and of course good execution isn't just limited to ads in our country. I say this because films need the same combination, it doesn't just depend on one person, and it's a kind of combined art that is only up to the mark when it's in sync. Then when the resonance occurs, when the understanding among the different people involved is singular, that's when good production takes place. Basically the message I'm trying to convey is that this form of coordination should also be applied to films to make them more appealing to both the critics and the mass audience. The same goes for the finances involved in such ad projects, similar amounts can be applied to films if and only if these are given to a good talented director, after thorough research is carried out for the script. I believe that if something like this does happen, it will be an excellent step for the Bangladeshi film industry as we will see a steady flow of good films. I believe in this because like I said before, projects like this inspire hope in us. Many heartfelt congratulations from the Showbiz team to Habib, Momtaz, Shaon, Amitab, the rest of the team and of course Grameenphone, for bringing them together.
