3 Bangladeshi cattle traders shot by BSF
Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot and injured three Bangladeshi cattle traders on Beurjhari border in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon last night.
The victims are Mister, 25, son of Selim Uddin; Tojammel, 25, son of Ejam Uddin; and Sadekul, son of Dabir Uddin. They are all residents of Chuighat Majankhor village in the upazila, our Thakurgaon correspondent reports quoting BGB officials.
The BSF troops of 121 Boro Billa camp opened fire when a group of cattle traders were returning home from India around 10:00pm crossing the border near pillar No.380/3-S, said Major Touhid bin Ishaq, an intelligence officer at BGB battalion-30.
Three cattle traders suffered the bullet wounds, the BGB official said.
Fellow traders managed to bring the victims to Bangladesh territory. They are now undergoing treatment at hospitals in Rangpur, he said quoting locals.
