Arlinks, ABB Switzerland 5-day training course starts
A five-day training on 'Numerical Relays', organised by ABB Switzerland Ltd, a leading power company in the world, along with its local agent Arlinks Ltd, started in Dhaka Sheraton Hotel yesterday.
About 25 engineers and managers from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Dhaka Electric Supply Authority (Desa) are participating in the training programme.
According to officials of ABB Switzerland Ltd, numerical relays is an advanced technology to protect the power system.
ABB Switzerland Ltd and its local agent have long been involved in developing the infrastructure at all the three stages -- generation, transmission and distribution -- of the country's power sector, said officials of Arlinks Ltd.
ANM Rizwan, managing director of PGCB, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the training programme.
Among others, Rokia A Rahman, chairperson of Arlinks Ltd, Harunur Rashid, director (technical) of PGCB, Peter Zwahlen, senior lecturer of ABB University, Switzerland, Krishna Prashad, regional sales manager of ABB Switzerland, and Imran Rahman, managing director of Arlinks, addressed the function.
