Pakistan has highest newborn mortality rate

Pakistan has the world's highest newborn mortality rate, with one in every 22 babies born dying within a month, according to a Unicef report released yesterday. The report reveals that babies born in the world's poorest countries, most of them in Africa, still face "alarming" risks of death that can be 50 times as high as those in the richest countries.
