Treating stroke patients better
Recently I visited Kolkata in connection with the treatment of my younger sister, who is suffering from Lumber Spine disorder. She was admitted to a reputed hospital, Institute of Neurosciences, specialised in treating such patients. In the corridors of the hospital, an alarming piece of information was on display: “Every 6 seconds someone in the world suffers a brain stroke”. If a stroke patient can be rushed to an appropriate hospital within a few hours of the mishap, the patient's chance of recovery would be greater. The Kolkata hospital's overall system of treating patients was praiseworthy. Bangladesh can introduce similar methods of treatment for patients suffering from brain stroke.
