2001 Ramna Batamul blast: Death row convict Mufti Shafiqur arrested

Rapid Action Battalion today arrested Mufti Shafiqur Rahman, a death row convict in the bomb blasts during Pahela Baishakh celebrations  21 years ago at Ramna Batamul in 2001.

Full verdict released, no bar to execute Mufti Hannan

The Supreme Court has released full verdict on the review petition of militant leader Mufti Abdul Hannan, that upheld his death for a 2004 grenade attack on UK envoy in Dhaka. A presidential clemency is now the only last resort for the convicts.
