Police have arrested 10 activists of Hefajat-e-Islam including its Brahmanbaria district unit’s assistant publicity affairs secretary Mufti Maulana Zakaria Khan in connection with the mayhem in the district from March 26 to 28.
Seven more supporters of Hefajat-e-Islam have been arrested in several cases filed over vandalism and arson in Brahmanbaria on March 26 and 28 centring the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to a press release of Special Branch of district police.
The mayhem that took place on Tuesday in Brahmanbaria over the death of a madrasa student is of grave concern to us.
