For the Sake of GPA 5
This week's cover story of the Star Weekend was really very significant. For the last couple of years we have seen how the desperate students and their equally desperate parents are adopting malpractices only to get a good score in the public examinations such as SSC and HSC. The rat race has become so severe that even the children of primary classes are running after leaked questions and illegal notebooks. This is really unfortunate. The article has depicted the scenario very well. Hope this will attract the eyes of our policy makers.

Call Me Old Fashioned
The article titled "Call me Old Fashioned" published in the Star weekend of August 28, reminded me of my own story. I became really nostalgic. I had a few friends living in the suburb of my hometown Dinajpur. They used to write one or two letters to me every week. I used to wait eagerly for the postman to receive those letters. Sometimes I used to visit the post office to check if my letter had arrived or not. After receiving a letter, the thrill I used to feel is incomparable. I replied to them with much more inspiration without delay. Gone are those days. Still I am very willing to make pen friends no matter if I am called old fashioned for my passion for writing letters. Thanks to the Star weekend for such a nice article.

Say No to Child Labour
There is a law in our country which says that child labour is prohibited. Sometimes we see a board hanging on the gate of mills, factories, offices, which tells that they don not recruit children as workers. However, when we go to local hotels, restaurants, stationary shop or any grocery shop we find little children working to earn money. They are also working as transport workers risking their lives. When they are supposed to go to school, they have become the bread earners of their families. Many organisations are working providing aid to these poor children. However, we need a sustainable solution so that these children do not have to worry for their family's income anymore.
