Bangladesh would be hoping to wrap up New Zealand first innings early on in the fourth day as sunny weather has returned to Christchurch after the third day's play was completely lost to rain.
The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00am local time (4:00am Bangladesh time) and can be watched on Channel 9’s official live stream here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAaRed4Pbfs
Shakib Al Hasan’s late blows on the second day pegged the visitors back to 260 for seven. Shakib took three wickets in nine balls yesterday to push the Kiwis into a corner, with Henry Nicholls the hosts’ last remaining established batsman.
Kamrul Islam Rabbi had gotten the breakthroughs for the Tigers, removing Jeet Raval -- who had built a 45-run partnership with Tom Latham -- and skipper Kane Williamson in the same over to give the visitors their first wickets. In fact the entire trio of pacers – Rabbi, Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain -- had bowled brilliantly throughout most of the second day.
The Kiwis had taken heart from Latham and Ross Taylor’s 106-run partnership before Taskin, who put in one of his best bowling performances on the tour yesterday, dismissed the former for 77.
Young off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz, who had opened the bowling alongside Taskin, picked up the wicket of Ross Taylor a short while later and 19 overs later, Shakib wreaked havoc with his spin.
Bangladesh were all out for 289 in their first innings. A total of 84.3 overs were bowled on the first day, with 71 overs following on the second day. There was not a single ball bowled on the third though.
