Tigers edge visitors in morning session
Bangladesh started second day of the Dhaka Test today on a positive note against India, picking up three wickets.
Taijul Islam was the pick of the bowlers, dismissing three India batters, while Khaled Ahmed and Mehedi Hasan Miraz supported the left-arm spinner well.
India are at 86 for three, still trailing by 141 runs, after India bowled out Bangladesh for 227 runs in their first innings yesterday.
In his third over of the day, Taijul trapped the stand-in India skipper (10) in front with a ball that held its line. The 30-year-old also had to convince his skipper Shakib Al Hasan to go for the review to overturn the umpire's not out decision.
Gill soon followed suit in similar fashion as Taijul struck in his next over's opening delivery, this time the umpire raised his finger amid a strong appeal from the hosts.
Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara combined for a decent partnership but Taijul struck again to remove Pujara (24), courtesy of a sharp bat-pad catch taken by Mominul Haque.
