Mosaddek, Shoriful dropped as Shakib returns for India ODIs
Bangladesh have dropped all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain and pacer Shoriful Islam from the ODI squad for India's tour of Bangladesh. Shakib Al Hasan, who had skipped the last time Bangladesh played an ODI series, returned to the squad along with paceman Ebadot Hossain.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the squad for the upcoming series, slated to begin on December 4 with the first ODI at Dhaka Mirpur and although all the regular players from the ODI setup had made cut, Mosaddek and Shoriful failed to get the selectors' nod. Spinner Taijul Islam, who had also featured in the Tigers' ODI squad during the tour of Zimbabwe this year, has been left out.
After injuries to Nurul Hasan and Liton Das, Ebadot and Mohammad Naim were included in the squad for the second and third ODIs for the series against Zimbabwe which Bangladesh lost 2-1. Naim, who last featured in the opening T20I against Afghanistan at the Asia Cup, has also been left out.
The Tigers, led by skipper Tamim Iqbal, will play the first two ODIs at Dhaka on December 4 and 7 before playing the third ODI at Chattogram on December 10. All the one-day matches will be day-night affairs beginning from 12 PM Bangladesh Time.
