Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman makes the cut into the Men's T20I Team of the Year for 2021, announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today.

The left-arm sensation again displayed his class in T20I cricket in 2021 with his clever variations and precision. Lethal up front and at the death, Mustafizur scalped 28 wickets in 20 matches at an average of 17.39. 'The Fizz' also boasted an economy of only seven per over.

The ICC Team of the Year recognises 11 outstanding individuals who have impressed all – be it with the bat, the ball or their all-round exploits in a calendar year.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam leads the curated team, which includes two more players from the Pakistan team that reached the semi-final of the T20 World Cup last year, and two players from the World Cup winning side in Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazlewood. However, no player from India or New Zealand or the West Indies made it to the team.

ICC Men's T20I Team of the Year for 2021: Babar Azam (captain), Jos Buttler, Mohammad Rizwan, Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, David Miller, Tabraiz Shamsi, Josh Hazlewood, Wanidu Hasaranga, Mustafizur Rahman and Shaheen Afridi
