In the rain-curtailed match at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No. 3 ground at Savar, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club posted 191 for 7 in 28 overs against Abahani Limited today.
Abahani captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and invited Prime Doleshwar led by Farhad Reza to bat first. Prime DSC were struggling at 3-35 inside six overs, but a whirlwind 72 from just 56 balls from Nasir Hossain lifted his team to a challenging total. Nasir’s second highest knock in DPL 2016 contained four fours and two sixes. Sunzamul Islam contributed to Prime DSC’s cause with 40 at a run-a-ball late in the innings.
Taskin Ahmed of Abahani picked up two wickets but conceded 53 runs in six costly overs. Shakib Al Hasan returned to play for Abahani after a six-year hiatus and took a wicket in this match. Saqlain and Mosaddek also grabbed a wicket each.
Kalabagan Cricket Academy were shot out for 89 in 21 overs at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur against Prime Bank Cricket Club.
Prime Bank Cricket Club led by Shuvagata Hom won the toss and elected to field given the conditions at Mirpur. Kalabagan lost wickets in regular intervals as none of their batters managed to post any resistance to Mohammad Azim and Monir Hossain’s incisive bowling. Both the Prime Bank bowlers took three wickets each to wreck Kalabagan. Mehedi’s 19 was the highest individual score in Kalabagan’s paltry 89.
In the last of today’s rain affected match, Cricket Coaching School were bowled out for 149 in 24.5 overs against table topper Mohammedan Sporting Club at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah today.
Mohammedan captain Mushfiqur Rahim opted to field first and his bowlers had CCS struggling at 3-42 inside 10 overs. Salman Hossain came to his side’s rescue and made 58 from 52 with eight fours to his name. Uttam Sarkar’s 23 from 17 pushed CCS to 149 in the end.
For Mohammedan, Ariful Haque picked up his best bowling figures in the ongoing DPL with 3-29 in 4.5 overs. Habibur Rahman took two wickets to stall CCS at Fatullah.
