Bangladesh national cricketers Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Soumya Sarkar, Jahanara Alam and Salma Khatun yesterday visited a village named Narayanpur at the Tala Upazila of the Satkhira District, which has been heavily affected due to climate change.

The village remains under water for almost six months a year, as a result of which the suffering of the dwellers are immense. Often villagers find it difficult to adapt to the flood-ridden region and are compelled to migrate to the city.

The cricketers yesterday interacted with the villagers as part of a programme entitled 'Amrai Pari' organised by the BBC Media Action with support from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

They landed in the region on a Seaplane yesterday morning and spent close to three hours with the villagers. They left the village for Khulna at 3 pm yesterday, where they will join their teammates at the camp organised for the Zimbabwe series.
