'It is now time for the next step'
"Whatever happened has happened," says Bangladesh Under-19 skipper Akbar Ali during the press conference. "We will probably celebrate for one or two days, but then we will all start doing our own work. For all of us, it is now time for the next step."
In a press conference alongside the players, BCB President Nazmul Hassan announces that each member of the squad will be given Tk 1 lakh every month for the next two years.
Young Tigers meet BCB president
The victorious Bangladesh Under-19 team have now gone to meet the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The gates have been opened and the multitudes of fans have gone to th stadum galleries. Our sports reporter, Mazhar Uddin, says that loud chants of 'Bangladesh! Bangladesh!' are echoing around the big bowl. BCB officials and former players like Akram Khan, Naimur Rahman, Minhajul Abedin are also there.

Young Tigers reach Mirpur
The Bangladesh Under-19 team reach Mirpur where hundreds of overjoyed cricket fans are waiting to congratulate them on delivering the nation's first World Cup.
The Bangladesh Under-19 team touched down at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with the ICC Under-19 World Cup trophy this evening, amidst the din of the fans and media personnel gathered at the airport to receive the Tigers.
Having landed some time after 5:00pm, the Akbar Ali-led world champions were accorded a small reception at the airport lounge and there was a cake cut to commemorate the occasion.
The Tigers have arrived three days after beating their Indian counterparts in the final in Potchefstroom, South Africa on Sunday. The team landed sometime after 5 PM (BDT). The Young Tigers boarded a flight yesterday from Johannesburg at 10 PM (South Africa Time) and following a transit, they boarded a flight for Dhaka from Dubai this morning.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had earlier decided to keep the homecoming low-key, with a small reception planned at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, before Akbar Ali's team are taken to the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium's Academy ground for a press conference.
