Tigers told to keep their focus for second T20I

Bangladesh T20I skipper Mahmudullah Riyad has urged his team mates to keep their focus, with off spinner Mahedi Hasan saying there were clear instructions from the skipper to remain positive and not take Zimbabwe lightly in their last T20I tomorrow.

Mahedi, who made his T20I debut in 2018 returned to the national dressing room during the T20I series in Pakistan informed that captain Mahmudullah has been spreading positive messages for the team.

"I have been listening to this from the seniors in the dressing room since the beginning of the T20 series. That we will play like dominant force, whatever happens. Riyad bhai was spreading positive vibe in the dressing room. If we play with strong mindset in the upcoming events like this, we will be successful," Mahedi said.

Bangladesh, on their next assignment, will tour Pakistan for their third and final leg of the tour, where the visitors will play one ODI and the second and final Test of the series against the hosts.

The Tigers faced crushing defeats to Pakistan in the two-match T20I series and also in the first Test during their first two visits.

Mahedi believes that the momentum from the wins against Zimbabwe will surely motivate Bangladesh.

Bangladesh will play the lone ODI on April 1 followed by the Test starting April 5, both the matches slated to be played in Karachi, although there are concerns over the tour due to the spread .

"Basically, it depends of how you play [against Pakistan]. Since almost everything is going well for us here and the fact that we are also trying to do well. Earlier, when big teams came here to Bangladesh, we have whitewashed them. In that case confidence is important. Since our confidence has risen up in this series, I think we will do well in our next series," said Mahedi.
