Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim and Imrul Kayes have been declared fit to play the upcoming second round of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury informed today.

Both national cricketers missed the first round of the BCL through hamstring injuries. The Bangladesh cricket team today left for Pakistan to play the first Test at Rawalpindi. Mushfiqur Rahim had opted out of the Pakistan series while Imrul Kayes was dropped following poor form. The former's return from injury also means that he will be available for selection when Bangladesh take on Zimbabwe in a lone Test on February 22nd. There however remains doubt over his selection for the Test against Zimbabwe with the board inclined to stick to the same squad that was named for the first Test against Pakistan.

However, Mushfiqur's availability for BCL means he will have the opportunity to prepare himself for the upcoming Test.

"Both Mushfiqur and Imrul were tested today and the result was convincing with both of them doing well. Both of them have been declared fit for the upcoming matches," Debashish informed.

Pacer Khaled Ahmed's meniscus rehabilitation was going well but there has been a relapse. "He will be available in the later part of February," Debashish acknowledged.

Shadman Islam had suffered a wrist injury and was subsequently left out of the first Test against Pakistan. The BCB are looking to send him and Mohammad Mrittunjoy Chowdhury to Australia to see specialists. Mrittunjoy had returned from the U-19 World Cup following shoulder injury.

"The board has given directives to contact medical experts in Australia. We have already started the process and hopefully we will send them to hand and shoulder surgeons later this month," Debashish said.
