Bangladeshi shooters Abdullahel Baki and Syeda Atkiya Hasan Disha won gold in the 10m air rifle team event in the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan today.
Baki and Disha pair beat Iran's Najmeh Khedmati and Pourya Norouziyan pair in the gold medal match by 5-1 points. Turkey won the bronze medal.
Bangladesh's other pair, Rabbi Hossain Munna and Mahfuza Jannat Jui, finished sixth in this event.
Baki had, on the previous day, finished sixth in men's individual 10m air rifle event while Disha had finished sixth in women's individual 10m air rifle event. Munna had won silver in the men's 10m air rifle event on Saturday.
This is the first ever gold medal from the Islamic Solidarity Games for Bangladesh, who had previously won a silver and a bronze medal in the previous edition in 2013.
