Superheroines Who Need Their Own Movies

DC's Wonder Woman is supposed to have her advent this year, and I can't help but wait eagerly for the movie to hit the screens. Admit it or not, Wonder Woman was the best thing to have happened in Batman vs. Superman, considering that some aspects of the plot were rather ludicrous. Following DC, Marvel will be dropping its female-led movie, Captain Marvel, in 2019. However, there are a lot more promising female superheroes in the comic universe who deserve their own blockbusters, and I could name my top favourites.
BLACK WIDOW
Being trained as a martial artist, spy and sniper, Black Widow is surely a cunning character. We already love her as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, and how she lets Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes escape in Civil War (I'm Team Cap, FYI). Having appeared in five Marvel movies already, she is the most deserving of a stand-alone, which should find her in her pre-Avengers espionage days.
Who should play her: Scarlett Johansson, duh.
SHE-HULK
If the movies were made exactly according to the comic books, we would have seen She-Hulk already in Captain America: Civil War as a supporter of Tony Stark, and in the Avengers and Fantastic Four movies. She is the strongest woman known in the Marvel Universe, trained in combat by Captain America and Gamora. Being a cousin of the Hulk, I think she definitely needs a movie of her own portraying how she gained her powers through Bruce Banner and what happened later on.
Who should play her: Ronda Rousey
SCARLET WITCH
After her bonding with Avengers which initially seemed unlikely in Age of Ultron, she is my most favourite character. Her powers are mind blowing; in the comics she is able to cast dangerous hexes while in the movies she can control energy and feel people's emotions. A life saver in the Age of Ultron, a former villain and someone who'd lost a loved one, her movie will certainly be breathtaking and full of turmoil.
Who should play her: Elizabeth Olsen, of course.
HAWKGIRL
Hawkgirl, one of the founding members of Justice League, desperately needs a movie of her own, especially since Wonder Woman has got one already. A Hawkgirl movie will have an abundance of dramatic materials. It should depict how she was used by her home planet to spy on Earth, but later found out their true intentions about invading this planet, and eventually prevented it from happening.
Who should play her: Penélope Cruz
VIXEN
Adding to the list of DC superheroines, Vixen, with her interesting powers to adopt any animals' abilities, would make a good stand-alone feature. Some light could be shed on her African background, her time with the Suicide Squad and then her missions in the Justice League. I know she is not as popular as some other superheroines, but I would love to see her switch between abilities, such as from accelerated healing (Earthworm) to electrokinesis (Electric Eel).
Who should play her: Tyra Banks
Zarin Rayhana is a self-aggrandizing ambivert who ponders over philosophical epiphanies during rainy evenings and waits for her crush to jump straight out of her favourite novel. Treat her with novel suggestions at [email protected]
