- Those countries who are stating Bangladesh crisis as “Pakistan’s internal issues” are supporting the junta’s genocide policy, Indian PM Indira Gandhi says at a rally in Ludhiana. Indian government wants the Bangladeshi refugees sheltering in India to go back to their homes.
- The victorious Pakistani army has eradicated the enemies (Mukti Bahini) from the country, says ASM Solayman, labour, social welfare and family planning minister of East Pakistan. “The enemies wanted to break Pakistan, but they will not succeed by any mean,” he says.
- PDP leaders sit for a meeting at Syed Azizul Haque’s residence. They approve Nurul Amin’s assertion of delaying the by-election. Muslim League’s General Secretary Khan A Sabur also demands the same.
