A Khulna court sends metropolitan unit BNP President Nazrul Islam Manju to jail, turning down his bail petition in a sabotage case.

A court in Khulna today sent metropolitan unit BNP President Nazrul Islam Manju to jail, turning down his bail petition in a sabotage case.

Judge of Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court Amirul Islam passed the order rejecting the bail prayer of Manju, who is also a former parliament member.

Sub-Inspector Anukul Chandra of Sadar Police Station filed the case for subversive activities against him with the police station on November 26, 2013.

However, the court granted him bail in another case filed for vandalising vehicles.

Earlier in the morning, the BNP leader surrendered to the court seeking bail in the two cases.
